Project DescriptionThe Royalty Theatre, formerly known as The Australia, is a Heritage Listed Building opened in 1929 & was originally used as a flexible-use venue. Adelaide Pressed Metal worked with G-Force Building on the conservation & restoration works to the existing heritage roof canopy retaining as much of the existing original fabric of the verandah wherever possible. Multiple site visits were carried out with initial panel replacement estimates at approximately 30 panels. Adelaide Pressed Metal stock the original feature panel design, Petersburg, which is pressed to imperial measurements & fitted in seamlessly where damaged panels needed to be replaced. The Petersburg panel in the original 2ft measurement allowed replacement of individual damaged panels instead of removing & replacing the entire verandah. This kept costs down & timelines shorter. As work commenced many more panels were found to be beyond repair & the initial estimate of 30 panels increased to as many as 60 panels. The experience & skill of the Adelaide Pressed Metal team in the restoration of heritage buildings is extensive & the huge range of pressed metal products in original imperial measurements are authentic to the original pressed metal materials. The border panel of Fine Roughcast, OG Batten cover strips & Ribbed cornice are readily available from Adelaide Pressed Metal & were all replaced seamlessly like for like where damage was beyond restoration allowing for an excellent finish.
