Restoration and replacement of pressed metal verandah ceiling.
Project Description

National Pressed Metal, contracting arm of the Australian Pressed Metal Group worked closely with builder LT McGuinness on the restoration of the verandah at the Lambton Quay shopping precinct. Teams from Melbourne Pressed Metal and Adelaide Pressed Metal worked to replace like for like the pressed metal verandah ceiling. New dies were produced for the original cornice, batten, beam cladding and mitres to replace and restore to original condition. The beam cladding when pressed was hand folded to match the original. While the ceiling looked quite simple in design there were many intricate details required to create and restore back to it's original elegance.
